Your Guide to Adaptogenic Herbs

Life is stressful!
And I love adaptogens! 💗 Adaptogens are one of my favorite categories of herbal medicine for life today. This class of herbs offers deep support for stressful times, bolstering up our vital energy and keeping our hormones balanced. They help the body to adjust to non-specific stressors- physical, mental and emotional stress.

They help to:
🌿 adapt to non-specific stress
🌿 increase our sense of calm
🌿 decrease cortisol (stress hormone)
🌿 regulate various hormonal imbalances that can show up as infertility, pms, pcos, night sweats/hot flashes, irritability & depression
🌿 improve resiliency
🌿 sleep better at night
🌿 have more energy and endurance
🌿 handle stressful situations better

There are so many fabulous adaptogens. And each one affects our system in different ways. Find the one that matches your current concerns and keep a few on hand at home. Here are some of my favorites 💗

Ashwagandha Anxiety, fatigue, insomnia, muscles
Rhodiola Emotions, immunity, chronic fatigue
Maca Libido, mood, anxiety
Shatavari Dryness, libido, high emotion
Tulsi, holy basil Mental clarity, immunity, mood
Reishi mushroom Immunity, forgetfulness, insomnia

💥 Remember 💥 while teas are a great healthful addition to your day, adaptogens often needed to be taken in therapeutic doses for extended periods of time. I typically recommend three months or longer for maximum efficacy. They can be taken as capsules, tinctures, and decoctions/teas.
